Google Analytics Update

Google Analytics has allowed me to track the progress of my blog. Currently right now I have 168 page views. 51.85% of the visits are from other websites such as my twitter page. And that the search engine that was used the most to find my blog is google. And the views are coming from 4 different states including: Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, and Connecticut. The majority of the views are coming from Woburn, Mass. The percentage of new site visits 9.26%. Which means that more and more people are viewing my blog each day. I also noticed that most visits repeated are people that view that websites 26-51 times. This statistics shows that there is good visitor loyalty. It is also interesting that the 96.3% of the viewers, view my blog on Safari. All of the statistics are really interesting to know based on what things people are interested in the most. This can be helpful for editing your website or changing things to make them more interesting for viewers.

WWF

In this assignment, I recreated a WWF add. To do this I opened the photo of the forest then placed the patterns of cheetah and tiger on top of the trees. I then lowered the opacity, so that the texture would show more clearly. I also burned the edges to get a more natural look by giving the trees a shadow. This could be useful in much of advertising today. This allows you be able to place any and fade it so that it is not as noticeable, this is a good technique for blending. It is a catchy but subtle way to catch the attention of the people looking at your advertisement. It is a good technique that I have learned in photoshop. It is a useful way to blend and merge photos together.

Merging Photos

Today in photoshop, we learned how to merge photos together. This can be very useful for making things such as brochures or postcards. They also can be used for any way of making something seem as if it is one picture. You can make the merging look more realistic by blending the edges.

Exploding Carrot

Today in photoshop, I learned how to merge two pictures together by lying the dynamite on top of the carrots and erasing parts that would lie on top of the carrots. To make it look more realistic I brightened the dynamite by making it redder. I also learned how to use the dodge and burn tool, which allowed me to lighten and darken different parts of the picture.

Google

Google is changing the way we are able to find things on the internet. There are so many different parts of google. However one thing that I find really interesting is google shopping. If you are looking for something in particular, it can be really helpful. If you search a brand or a specific clothing, you can find such a variety of different websites. The websites have a large selection and can help you narrow your search. It also shows a variety of prices to narrow your search. There also many advertisements related to your search on the side bar.

Google also has many shortcuts that are really helpful. For example instead of searching for a website for the weather forecast, you simple type weather: (and your zip code hear). Also if you need to define a word, instead of going to a website such as dictionary.com, you can simple type in google, define: (and the word you are searching the definition of). There are many different short cuts and interesting ways to navigate the web, thanks to google. But one really cool way that google is helping navigate around the world is through google maps. Google Maps are able to give you a view of all streets, similar to any map. But it can also show a street view from the map. This can be very helpful for finding destinations, or just looking at places you have never been. Google has changed from an ordinary search, in to something much larger.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a interesting way to analyze a website. It can tell you how many views you have on your website, to what country the view was in, to what state, to what town. This can be useful in telling whether or not your website has an effect on different countries around the world or just the local area. The statistics that it can tell you can be very helpful for companies and businesses because it can also tell you how many views that you have on different pages within a website. This can be important for updating the most important pages on your website or finding out the ones that have the least views and need improvements. It can also tell you how many new visitors, your website has which can be important in telling whether your company or website needs more advertising. Google Analytics can also tell you what people search in search engines to get to your website or whether they just type it directly. Google Analytics is really cool way to understand how effective your website is, big or small.

Twitter Changing the Way We LIve

How Twitter Will Change the Way We Live

I myself thought what was the point of twitter, why does everyone need to know what you are doing all the time every single day. And although I am still getting the hang of twitter, it is growing on me... twitter is more than just status updates. And to some who aren't tweeps, Twitter is often viewed as just knowing what your friend is having breakfast, or how many days until summer break, but twitter is also changing the way we live. Not only does twitter allow people to interact socially, but it is also making a difference in the way that businesses, political parties, sports, and news communicate over the web. On twitter in your 140 characters you can also communicate by posting links and articles something that might interest others. It could be tweeting about something that you learned in by reading the news and than tweeting about some recipe you tried. Twitter is also becoming a great way for many followers to get the most current news for example, the New York Times. Twitter is not only a popular social media tool, but is also changing the way we live.
